The current iteration of TOS agreements play fast and loose with the understanding of free expression, often shifting the idea of context into the realm of personal perception and bias. At first glance these changes could be accepted as a response to an actual threat but the numbers just don't add up.
Solitude is not necessarily loneliness but most interpret it as being alone. The issue here is an assumption of context. In the types of conversations people like to have, they speak about being or feeling alone, having a deep-seated need for social interactions or to find companionship of a sort. The thought of being solitary is an off-putting or even frightening proposition to them.
In the dead of night a plot unfolded to quietly remove those who were guilty of wrong think. Those monstrous characters who felt the need to not only disagree, but to do so publicly. They had to be stopped for the greater good, for the safety of others. Didn't you know that exposure to dissenting opinions and harsh tones is akin to physical violence?
It's interesting viewing that scene from Farscape, it essentially sums up the way the world works. Things have probably always been like that but we just lacked the means to spread information as far and as quickly as we can now. Now we get an instant response, instant outrage regarding any event.
We now have a generation that will never experience a time without connectivity, a generation not knowing what it is like to live a life not augmented by technology. Some of us still remember what it was like before the internet, before everyone had a computer or smart phone. A time before information overload, instant gratification, and near infinite avenues of escapism.
